ESIC · Oct 2026
Everything about ESIC for employers in Satara – applicability, wage limit, contribution rates, monthly due dates and the medical benefits your employees receive.
The Employees' State Insurance (ESI) scheme gives medical, sickness, maternity and disablement benefits to employees. For factories and businesses in Satara MIDC, Kodoli, Karad and Wai, correct ESIC compliance protects both the employer and the workforce.
Who is covered?
ESIC generally applies to establishments with 10 or more employees in notified areas. Employees earning up to ₹21,000 per month (₹25,000 for persons with disability) are covered.
Contribution rates
- Employer: 3.25% of gross wages
- Employee: 0.75% of gross wages
Contributions must be paid by the 15th of the following month.
ESIC registration – step by step
- Register the establishment on the ESIC portal and obtain the 17-digit employer code
- Register each eligible employee (IP registration) and generate the e-Pehchan card
- Add family details so dependants can also use ESIC hospitals and dispensaries
- File monthly contributions and keep wage records ready for inspection
Common mistakes we see
- Not registering new joiners within the prescribed time
- Wrong wage calculation (excluding allowances that should be included)
- Missing the 15th due date, leading to interest and damages
